The intimate atmosphere, excellent service, and top-tier dishes are second to none. We had the pasta, risotto, and fish (the last one not pictured) and a bottle of wine. The food was perfectly balanced and so fresh! For dessert we had the yuzu cheesecake and one of the specials - a berry crumble. Both were stellar! The highlights include not only the spectacular food, but also the staff. We thought we lost an item at the restaurant and the staff diligently searched and communicated their updates to us. We are so grateful for the wonderful food and service, and we can't wait to come back!

First time visit to Cafe La Haye and it was a great experience! Service was impeccable, friendly, prompt and great recommendations. Food was amazing and between 5 of us, we sampled many menu items, from the trout tartare, bibb lettuce salad, pork chops, fried chicken, pasta, and risotto with crispy calamari. Desserts were equally tasty, and overall it was a great evening

We had such a good dinner! First off, just have to say service was amazing. Esther was so delightful and checked in on us often. Love her! And she made sure my coffee cup was never empty. Which I needed after wine tasting. We started with the Beef Carpaccio which had fried oysters (my favorite part). I had one of the specials, the Tombo Tuna. The curry sauce was delicious! Tuna was seared on the outside and raw on the inside. I loved it! Hubs ordered the Pork Loin which wasn't as visually exciting but the flavors were definitely there. It had a sweeter sauce that went well and the gnocchi hidden beneath the chop was good. I can see how it's one of their popular dishes. And for desert my husband ordered the warm Almond cake with salted caramel ice cream, which satisfied his sweety tooth. Everything was delicious, service was great. The space is small and cozy. Definitely a great place to have dinner when you're in Sonoma.

This place is what dining for Sonoma County locals is all about. Unpretentious. Expert hospitality. Small and well-executed menu. IYKYK.

One year later on our trip through Sonoma and we had to return to Cafe La Haye. Still as excellent as it was a year ago. Food, service, and wine were all top notch. We were lucky enough to have Ester as our server again. She has such enthusiasm about the menu. Her descriptions of the extensive specials were detailed and spot on. I have no idea how she remembers such fine details of an ever changing menu. A true professional! We started with the chop salad as a starter, which I could have every day and not get tired of. I returned to the pork chop for my main, which was a generous cut. My partner had the chicken special, which was beyond generous in size and very tasty. We cheated again this time and had dessert. That butterscotch pudding is utter perfection. We can't wait to return next year during our annual trip through Sonoma.

Just off the square in downtown Sonoma, Café Le Haye has been a stalwart of the Wine Country dining scene since 1996. While small with only 34 seats, the dining room has large windows facing the street and mirrors on the walls that give the illusion of a larger space. Overlooking the kitchen, the small bar has four of the best seats in the house, allowing patrons to get a great view of the food preparation action. Topped with two delicious fried oysters, the beef carpaccio ($17) disappeared all too quickly. Juicy and moist, the pork loin chop ($34) was huge and grilled to perfection. There's generally a risotto dish that changes daily. Don't miss the decadent butterscotch pudding for desert. The wine list is small, but well curated with a good selection of by the glass offerings. Service is spot on: water glasses never go unfilled, used dishes are removed almost immediately and your selections appear exactly on time. Owner Saul Gropman is usually manning the front of the house. Café Le Haye is probably the finest non-prix fixe restaurant in Sonoma.

After getting to Sonoma too late, we walked into this gem. They were able to give us seating at the bar last min. It was amazing to see the chef and cooks at work. The food was amazing and flavorful. The waitresses were super attentive and had great suggestions. They knew their food! It's a nice place for a date or to go with friends.
